Crafting

First Finish of 2023

Crocheting

Crocheting is not new to me…and if the truth be told it was one of the first crafts I did back in the dark ages. I had not picked up a crochet hook in many many years so in 2020 when the world was going into a lock down and we were all looking for something to occupy our time and keep our hands out of the cookie jar, and maybe prompted on by some friends, I ordered a few skeins of chenille yarn and a cute little container of hooks and jumped in.

I started this throw with the blue in 2020, folded it up sometime towards the end of that year and put it away until right before Christmas in 2022…yes…you are reading that right…I put in down and two years later started in again. I continued on with the blue, then realized I wouldn’t have enough for a throw as big as I wanted, so I added the gray, switched back and forth till I ran out of the blue and finished with the gray, not my best planning job. Also, the weight was a little different in the two colors and you can see that with the way the gray sections seem small, I promise, I counted my stitches and they are the same from when I started to when I finished, hopefully when I wash it all sides will be straight (fingers crossed). I’ll update this post after I give it a run through the washer.

Until Next Time
