  • As I look out on the Carolina blue sky a sense of peace comes over me

I can’t help but wonder if this is where I am suppose to land back on my feet

the place where I was swept off my feet

the place that kicked off the love story that will forever be in my heart

so I pick up each foot and put it in front of the other

    moving forward

    is this the place

  • Zara wasn’t looking for any complications in her life when she left the city to erase the memory of what she saw when she came home early from wedding dress shopping. Gabriel had a full life, young son, cowboy by day, bar owner by night, he didn’t need to add anything to his plate. But that one night, the one night when Zara walked in to Gabriel’s bar and they became Sweetheart and Cowboy. Watch this love story evolve, with steam from the very beginning that doesn’t let up till the very end. A total HEA and another of Natasha’s books that I want to keep going on and on.

  • A Gal – A Guy – A Bird – 2 kids

Girl sees bear…boy sees girl looking a bear…boy saves girl from bear…how is that for the opening line of a love story. Sky is looking to escape but she wasn’t looking for that escape to land her in the arms of a hot sexy dad. West wanted what his parents had and he never thought he’d find it…he wanted someone to love but more than that he wanted someone he could be friends with. This is a love story that started as friends that flirt…slow build to steam but make no mistake when West turns the steam on towards Sky there is no turning back. West has two kids they are his world and once he sees Sky with them…it’s all over…head over heals. Watch out for the bird with the foul mouth…adds a lightheartedness to the story…and a total HEA in the end.

  • The last book in the Cherry Tree Harbor series and I swear each book just kept getting better and better. Joey Lupo – hunky hockey player is all about the game till he happens to sit beside Mable Buckley on an airplane, an airplane that Mable is sure is going to crash. Mable rambles off to Joe the things she never got to do, one night stand, husband, kids and the list goes on. Joe is nice, thinks she is kind of cute but that’s it…until a wedding the next day where he is standing with the other groomsman and sees her and then again at the reception. There were sparks and he was going to help her mark one thing off her list of never has she done. WOW did the sparks fly and then something that would change both of their lives forever. So, let’s recap, hunky hockey player…pretty girl that gets the hiccups when nervous…a big surprise. Watch as Joey Lupo turns in to a true golden retriever with a little alpha in him guy and watch as Mable keeps trying to push her heart down from falling. Melanie did not disappoint with the ending, a real HEA!
I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • Grief is like waves on the ocean…

Some times it rolls in…churning up everything around it…tossing anything and everything aside…

    and other times…

It’s there…you can feel it rocking you, not washing over you, just floating on the surface.

With each passing wave you brace yourself, not knowing if the grief will knock your feet out from underneath you

    or

if it will gently cradle you

whispering that before the grief there was a great love that will keep you afloat.

today I float with those memories of love

    Unfair Game

    Beyond the Game
    Surprise around every corner
She was looking for a one nights stand – a good time to help move her along from the disaster of her marriage. He was always looking for a good time. Dex meet Tate but wait or is it Ben Dover meet Amanada Hugginkiss. Surprise you’re gonna be a mama…oh wait…bigger surprise guess who the baby daddy is and let’s not forget the aunt. The third in this series and they just keep getting funnier and funnier. HEA

    Forbidden Game
Friends with Benefits and so much more

Rory is a sassy teacher, loves her kids, loves her brother and just maybe loves the Hawk! Watch this friends to friends with benefits to lovers story unfold! HEA

    Saving the Game
    Who fell first
Kink manages to get out from under the claws of her family and ex…she hands out positive photo vibes…has a hairless cat – nutsack – … what she doesn’t have is a boyfriend until she makes up a fake one, okay he’s not a fake guy but Quinton aka Hot Hockey Dude is not her boyfriend but her mother doesn’t know that. What this fun story unfold from an over heard phone call to a cat running through the loft with underwear wrapped around his neck.

    Bonus Game
Daddy and Daughter need help – Ada comes to the rescue
Zeke is doing his best to raise his daughter, Elsie, after her mother flew the coop. Ada has overcome a lot in the last three years but could really use a job that pays her enough to get out of a small apartment with five locks on the door. Kinsley from book 5 comes to the rescue of both Zeke and Ada…this is a fun single father book where there are a few twist and turns but the bonus on this book is my all time favorite ending to a series!

I really enjoyed this series but then what’s not to enjoy…hot hockey dudes and the women that tame them

  • Grab the tissues when you sit down to start this book but not for the reason you think. This book will leave you laughing so hard you’ll have tears running down your face. This love story is one of the funniest books I’ve read in a very long time. The fun banter between Everly and Hardy is hilarious and when the steamy parts kick in…woohooo…a guarantee HEA in the end

  • watercolor – Shooting Stars by K Thomas

The stars were flung far and wide across the sky

    and yet

    they appeared tethered together

    like a blanket

    extended to eternity

    like my love

    for you

  • The Strocked Series by Meghan Quinn

There are three books in this fun series about Olympic Swimmers/Divers –

    Stroked – Book 1 – 5 Stars

He was chasing gold not the girl…she just wanted to revive her career…but with a flick to the forehead he was smitten…and well one look at his hot swimmers body she fell hard. Steamy with a real HEA

    Stroked Long – Book 2 – 5 Stars

Ruby is full of positive vibes – Bodi is full of angst – Meghan did such a great job with both characters so much that when Bodi’s OCD kicked in you could feel the tension jump off the pages of the book. This is a story of friendship turned to lovers and some serious steam coming from both the characters.

    Stroked Hard – Book 3 – 5 Stars

Hollis is the best golden retriever book boyfriend…reading about this high diver you want to just snuggle up and cuddle this character. Melony with a hole in her heart wasn’t sure she could ever love…that was until…well…that’s all I’m gonna write because you need to read this book to see how Hollis wins her over. A total HEA!

All opinions are mine and written from the heart

  • I know it sounds like a metaphor but today has been four weeks since we all lost Andrew…

After hurricane Debbie made her way up the east coast and across the Carolina’s and Virginia and dumped almost three inches of rain here…this afternoon the clouds parted and the sun came out…

You see…I woke this morning with tears…this hasn’t happened first thing in the morning since the first few days after his passing…too much too do and putting that one foot in front of the other thing…but this morning I was extra weepy. I didn’t push through like I have been doing instead I sat, had coffee, had my morning check-ins with my girl posse and read…the drizzle and gray skies matched how I was feeling.

I took a ride to town, had a few errands to run and came home to some paperwork, then another trip to town…the sky opened up while I was out and all I could think was WTF…like I need this today…again my mood was matching the weather.

As I was chatting with a friend I looked out the window and saw that the sky was getting brighter…could the sun really be coming out???

YES…the sun was coming out…I went on the porch, put the furniture back in place, thankful it was dry and sat and listened to music and read…it was then I realized it was Friday…and of the many things Andrew taught me was that Friday’s were made for cocktails…

Let me present the KA Cosmo … you see my man wrote an app that holds all kinds of cocktails…and this one is mine. Andrew taught me the patience to measure each ingredient to perfection and to shake it enough that it got super cold and maybe just a little ice crystal’s to float on top as it is strained.

As I sat on the back porch sipping my drink a sudden sense of peace came over me…you see…the clouds of the storm lifted…and the clouds that have been covering my eyes these last four weeks have floated away.

Today my mourning took a turn…you see…the cracks in my heart from losing Andrew are very slowly being filled with the memories…like this one…of him preparing me the perfect cosmo for a Friday afternoon cocktail.

Andrew taught me well…I understood the assignment and working to move forward.

My love to you…and to him…
